  • Reservations - must be guaranteed by a credit card (charges are processed at the time of check-out). State sales tax at 8.125% and local lodging tax at 4% are both applied at the time of check-out.
  • Trains - The Rhinecliff is a historic railway hotel, the trains are nearby and you will hear them! Trains during the night are few, but there may be some, we provide earplugs to help! We cannot accept complaints about “the trains.”
  • Events - The Rhinecliff caters private events which may provide audible music etc until 11pm.
  • Cancellation - with greater than 2 weeks’ notice, fully refundable. With less than 2 weeks’ notice, rooms shall be fully chargeable (unless rooms are subsequently let in which case a 10% service fee will be payable). Block bookings entail special conditions, please inquire.
  • Futon sofa beds and air mattresses – are intended for youngsters, and are available in the premier rooms and suites only. We do not recommend adults use these beds and accordingly cannot accept adult-related complaints thereto!
  • A maximum of 4 guests allowed - in either the Premier Rooms or Suites. Two adults and one small child are allowed in Hudson or River Rooms. Crib fee $20.
  • Service fee – is $20 per person for any guests in excess of 2 per room to cover linen, towel and breakfast costs.
  • Late check-out – please request in advance should you require a late check-out which we will be happy to accommodate where possible. Unplanned late check-outs are liable to a $75 housekeeping overtime charge. We reserve the right to enter any rooms that have not been vacated in a timely fashion to commence cleaning.
  • Breakfast – deliciously full cooked breakfast is included with your stay and is served in the restaurant from 8am-10am. Brunch may be substituted for breakfast on Sundays.
  • Minimum night stay – there often isn’t one, though at certain periods a two night minimum and/or other restrictions may apply.
  • River views - Hudson, River and Suites enjoy a direct river view, Premier Rooms enjoy an angled river view.
  • Room 205 - currently has a queen bed, not a king bed.
  • Unforeseen circumstances – we reserve the right to offer alternate accommodations at other lodging locations in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
  • In-room Dining/Room Service will be subject to a 20% service charge above listed prices plus 20% gratuity for our hard-working employees!
  • Promotions and discounts – may not be combined. Only one discount can be applied at a time.
  • Room rates – may be revised by management at any time without notice. This does not apply to confirmed reservations. Confirmed reservation rates are not re-negotiable.
  • Weekend bookings - reservations ordinarily open 12 weeks in advance of the required date.
  • Front Desk - may close from 6pm, there is always a manager available until 11pm, there is no overnight staff or concierge service.
  • Smoking – is strictly prohibited. There will be a $250 housekeeping cleaning charge for any in-room smoking which will be charged to your card without notice.
  • Damage - that occurs to hotel property will be the sole responsibility of the guest and any additional charges may be affixed to the final bill.
  • Please don’t be noisy! - if the hotel suffers lost revenue as a direct result of any room guest's inordinately noisy, inconsiderate or other behavior, you will be held liable for the loss and will be charged in full to make good the loss.
  • Lost keys - there will be a charge of $10 per set for un-returned room keys.
  • Pets - are unfortunately not allowed due to allergy concerns of other guests, we can recommend kennels!
